This is certainly a millstone by anyone’s standards and to put it into perspective, roughly 9900 soccer matches are played annually across the different leagues in Europe, which puts Fifa 09’s match count 50 000 times higher than that of the real life games.
Fifa 09’s Ultimate Team, launched March 19, sparked the highest online activity in the title’s 11 month lifecycle, which is a game mode that challenges players to create the most talented soccer players in the word, develop them in order to create a dream team and then compete online.
Fifa 10 is still a few months away and it will certainly be interesting to see what the online gameplay count gets to before it arrives.
