Xbox & PS3 owners can get excited, that they won’t be left out of the motion controller world of gaming for much longer. Although the PS3 does have the Sixaxis technology, the motion controller leader is still the Nintendo Wii. But now, the “Gametrak Freedom” motion controller for the Xbox & PS3, is on display at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and it looks quite promising.
SlipperyBrick.com reports that it should be available this fall for the Xbox 360, the PS3 version is expected next year. A significant difference to it’s Wii cousin, is that it will use “ultrasonic 3D positioning” to relay the remote’s position via pulses, as opposed to line of sight.
We’ll have to wait and see how the immersive motion controller technology will enhance the future titles on Xbox & PS3!
