Soon we could be seeing movies that have had their special effects created by Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, the companies CEO said: “We want to create the capacity to develop special effects for movies. Those worlds have to merge more and more, we don’t want to make movies, but the expertise we have is key to creating special effects, graphics and animation”

Ubisoft are currently collaborating with Twentieth Century Fox on James Cameron’s movie Avatar. In addition to creating a games based on the movie, they are sharing development of settings and characters.

Last year the publisher bought Canadian special effects studio,  Hybride Technologies, the firm behind Sin City’s and 300′s stunning visuals.

    Very interesting!

It’s very interesting to see a game company go with a film company, seems like a good idea to be honest.

I agree Painyboi, it almost seems like natural progression for Ubisoft.
