The Playstion 3 Slim slips and falls horizontally
A little over a month ago the Sony PS3 made its debut to the world, it in a smaller package, uses less power and best of all; it cames at an attractive price of $299, a substantial discount over its heftier predecessor. However, it all the modifications where not improvements.
The PS3 Slim's greatest weakness is that Sony's designers decided to cripple its ability to stand vertically independently. It is possible but only with an accessory stand that is not included in the box of the PS3 Slim and must be purchased at an additional cost. The reason as to why Sony has decided to do this eluded me completely.
My PS3 fat stood vertically, it made sense to me because it took less space and in my opinion looked ever so slightly sexier standing up. Needless to say, I was disappointed pulling out my spanking PS3 slim to find out that it could not fill the spot that my fat to graciously occupied.
It's humorous to think about; the PS3 comes included with wifi, Blu-Ray drive, hdmi output but if you want it to stand vertically like every incarnation of the Playstation from the PS2, you'll need to buy a stand. Sony have in a sense doomed all future purchases of the Playstation to lie horizontally, unless of course you are willing to fork out some extra case in leu of new game buy a stand.
What do you think and are you upset that the new PS3 Slim does not with out the box functionality to stand tall?

It makes me laugh when about it; the PS3 Slim comes included with wifi, Blu-Ray drive, hdmi output but if you want it to stand vertically like every other incarnation of the Playstation from the PS2 wbich arrived 9 years ago, you'll need to buy a stand. I take it you never saw the PS2 slim then?
Indeed I have but the PS2 slim came with a vertical stand included.
Erm, the PS2 slim NEVER came packaged with a stand….I had both versions of the slim PS2 (the first with the external PSU and the last model with the internal PSU) and neither came with a stand. The boxes also lists the included items, so it wasn’t a mistake. Admit it…you messed up. You are also wrong on the “like every incarnation of the Playstation that came before it”…the PSone never had the ability to stand vertically, and no stand was even produced for it.
Well stone us we got it wrong…
